Issues Found on and around Commercial Road High street:
- Crime
- Neglect
- Unused Space
- Empty shops
- Residential zoning
- No community spirit
- Isolation from Environment
- High rise Monotony
- Gentrification
- Poverty
- Homelessness
- Lack of Microlocality
- Lack of Diversity in Shops
- Lack of Diversity in Food & Drink
- Lack of Public, Social space
- Low pride of Historical Buildings/areas
- High unemployment rate
Issues I aim to tackle directly – The rest Ideally begin to recover indirectly as a domino effect.

Through an Urban, Architectural intervention, informed by my research, I aim to:
Restore a sense of community spirit to the city centre inclusive of all locals, visitors, and their diversities.
Provide an affordable space to inhabit, thus creating a sense of responsibility, ownership and care for the area.
Restore a sense of pride of the High-street, for what was once an iconic historical trading port.
Unite our parks and green spaces. Connecting them to our experience of the city centre and increasing air quality and wellbeing of residents and visitors.
To make the city more sustainable and self-sufficient through food, retail, local skills, and resources.
Provide a city fit for the changes the future is going to respond to our changing needs.
