Current outlook for what the future will look like and how that is going to impact our way of life.
POPULATION
By 2050 our population is expected to reach 9.8billion, we are currently at 7.6 billion. In 2100 we will reach about 11.2 Billion people.
There will be an increasing demand for housing and shelter, homelessness may increase. Residencies need to be of higher density in urban and suburban areas.
FOOD
by 2050 we will need 70% more food.
we are already using 45% of global land for the Meat industry.
Which also accounts for 51% of greenhouse gas emissions and 91% of deforestation due to transportation and growth.
We need to quickly generate methods of feeding our communities with local produce, and potentially think about how our cities can become self-sufficient. Ideas around Urban Agriculture may be explored.
GLOBL WARMING
Sea levels have risen by 21-21cm since the 1900's.
They are projected to rise 1.5m by 2050 if current global emissions continue to climb increase.
Pushing more and more people inland, away from rural areas and into the cities. Our urban environments need to be prepared for population relocation.
